Online Psychological Services

Telehealth gives people access to quality psychological services from anywhere in the world.

You may live remotely, travel a lot, prefer not to leave your home, find this more convenient, and or not want to travel a long way to attend an appointment face to face.

What is Telehealth?

The ISO defines Telehealth as the “use of telecommunication techniques for the purpose of providing telemedicine, medical education, and health education over a distance”, while drawing a distinction between this and telemedicine, which is defined as the “use of advanced telecommunication technologies to exchange health information and provide health care services across geographic, time, social and cultural barriers”.

Medicare Rebates

Sherwood Holistic Psychology is registered with Medicare which means Australian clients can access Medicare rebates to help meet the cost of therapy. You will require a Mental Health Treatment Plan or Referral from your GP which will cover you for up to 10 sessions annually.

Make the most of online therapy

A quiet, private, confidential space is most suitable for when engaging in online therapy. Ensure you have a good WIFI/internet connection and your devices are charged. Make sure you are comfortable, have some tissues and a cup of tea or glass of water handy and that you dress appropriately as if you were attending a normal face to face appointment.

Zoom videoconferencing

Our 50-minute psychological therapy sessions are conducted using the Zoom online videoconferencing platform. Please download the Zoom app to your PC or smartphone before our meeting and test your video and audio connection. If Zoom or the internet cuts out, your psychologist will call your mobile from a private number to continue the session.
